Sacred Space of Ceremony
Have you ever been to a ceremony? What do you think of when you hear the word? By definition, a ceremony is a formal religious or sacred observance; a solemn rite; a gesture of politeness. Weddings are ceremonies. Funerals are ceremonies. Birthdays are ceremonies. Praying is a ceremony. Writing a letter to Santa is a ceremony. Sending good vibes to your friend driving across the country is a ceremony. Should we choose, every moment of the day is our own personal ceremony. How are you observing it?
One of my absolute favorite things to do is facilitate Shamanic ceremonies. By sitting in ceremony, we are entering an intentional container with others, choosing to be authentic, vulnerable, non-judgmental, compassionate, and reverent. We are choosing to enter a space that has been dedicated to healing, introspection, release, self-discovery, understanding, and magick. We are agreeing to witness ourselves and to witness others through the eyes of Spirit/God/Universe/Flying Spaghetti Monster. We are surrendering to the unknown, packaged within the familiar, experienced through connection, emotionality, medicine music, and plant guides.
While sitting in ceremony can be a new and awkward experience at first, just one can completely change your life, shift your perspective, and deliver you into an entirely new state of being.
